Active Transportation Scholarship

Introduction

What is Ground Control Systems?

Ground Control Systems is a leading design, engineering, and distribution company of world-class bicycle, skateboard, scooter, snowboard, and ski parking.

About the Scholarship

Ground Control Systems knows how important transportation is for community engagement. Popular destinations are shaped and managed to better serve the vehicles we use to get there. Whether it’s getting to athletic events, social gatherings, classes, or for business: planning for vehicles before, after, and during is key.

Electric scooter shares represent the latest change transforming the way we get around. They will change the way we get to parks, buildings, shops, and other activity centers. All of these destinations will face unique challenges and may need special solutions in order to accommodate new electric scooter traffic.

With each destination, there is an expert who is familiar with how commuters, arrive, interact, stay, and go. Their help will be needed in order to understand what will happen once more and more commuters switch over to electric scooter shares. The expert sources may be business owners, event managers, and other transportation officials.

Proper integration of electric scooter share with our everyday destinations is useful to both individuals and communities. Benefits include the alleviation of traffic congestion, cost-effective transportation alternatives, increased accessibility, sustainability, all the while encouraging effective, healthy, and safe lifestyle choices for all commuters.

Ground Control Systems’ Active Transportation Scholarship is designed to support college students who are forward thinking about active transportation and can collaborate with experts.
