Sacramento Bicycle Corrals
Case Study

Problem
The City of Sacramento had identified a few businesses, including Panagea, where sidewalk bicycle parking was inhibiting pedestrian walkway space.
Solution
Ground Control Systems, formerly Park a Bike, as well as the City of Sacramento Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator and Transportation Department, put together a city permit plan and layout for the Varsity Bike Corral to take up one car stall and replace it with parking for 10 bikes. This offered bicycle commuters a safe place to park and still provide for adequate foot traffic walkway space.
Testimonial
“Our customers love these racks and the idea we can convert a car parking stall into parking for 10 bikes. I have not been able to offer bicyclists a place to park, until now!“
